A Poem Without A Name
By Emma-Jane Henry
The green, green,
brightness of life –
there present
in the midst of strife.
Shining and gleaming
and silent as peace,
There present
to those who have eyes.
This Emerald gem,
yet not so rare,
when gazed upon,
relieves the cares,
Of every heart searching
and seeking for Truth
and helps them to breathe again
Life’s joyful youth!

A Note from the Author:
"I was inspired by the poetry I was learning in class ENG 110 and I hadn't planned on writing a poem but this idea came to me and I set it down quite quickly.
The poem is about nature: the green beauty around us all the time and its healing effect upon us if we take the time to look around.
I was walking back from campus one afternoon feeling quite stressed when I turned to look at the cricket pitch which was very green and shimmering in the sun after it had been watered. That was the beginning of the inspiration for my poem." - Emma-Jane Henry
